SMMART GIVEAWAY! GIVEAWAY! GIVEAWAY!: Thanksgiving Point

Hooray! Hooray! My first Giveaway!

I had the priviledged experience of touring Thanksgiving Point last month. I had never visited the Children's Garden before. We really enjoyed the Noah Ark water feature.

Then, we were awed by the beauty of the Thanksgiving Point gardens. I think my favorite gardens were "The Secret Garden", and the "Carousel Garden".

We loved feeding the cows at The Farm as they stuck out and curled their tongues around the corn kernals.

And, of course, the fossil dig and interactive exhibits in the Dinosaur Museum were so much fun! Plus, did you know that Thanksgiving Point has a NEW hands-on SCIENCE MUSEUM in the works?!? (I have to make sure I'm still breathing!- We can't wait for it to open in 2011!)

Perhaps you took advantage of $2 Tuesdays this month...what a great deal! Well, if you didn't get a chance to partake of the $2 deal, perhaps you'll be lucky enough to win...

A FAMILY 4 PACK to EACH OF THE THANKSGIVING POINT VENUES!!!!!! (Am I screaming too loud?...Well, I'm excited for you!)

So, if you would like to enter to win a Family 4 Pack of tickets to: The Museum of Ancient Life, The Farm, The Children's Garden and The Gardens...

-(1 entry) Leave me a comment about your favorite places to visit with your kiddos. I'd especially love to hear about places maybe everyone doesn't know about. (Like I just discovered the Wild West Jordan Playground-it's very cool!) Even if you live outside of Utah, I'd like to hear where you enjoy visiting.

-(1 additional entry) Become a "FOLLOWER" of this SMMART blog so you can stay posted on the newest activity I post each week.

This giveaway closes on Friday, Sept.4 at midnight. I'll post the winner on Monday, Sept 7th. The winner must contact me by midnight-Tues, Sept 8th or I'll draw a new winner.

Our favorite place is the zoo! We bought a family pass that gets us in for a year for $80. We only have to go three times to make it worth our money! Our kids love it there.

I love taking my grandchildren to Gardner Village on a Sunday afternoon. The stores are closed so no temptations there but you can enjoy the walk through the village, feed the ducks, and enjoy the themed decor they are famous for.

It may seem strange but the place that my son and I love to go together is the D.I.
I love to go because of course things are inexpensive, as well as Green, (We all need to recycle) I love crafts and you can find a lot of your craft needs and Its Wonderful for Inspiration!! My son is Autistic and he is a huge people watcher and I enjoy watching people as well. The employees are always so sweet, he knows most of them. They all welcome him and we just have a wonderful time there.

A place we recently discovered is Copperton Park. It is the most quiet, unassuming place. There is really not anything outstanding, it is just serene and my granchildren love the playground and walking through all of the shady big trees!

We've been focusing on the outdoors this summer. We went blueberry picking, visited Lake Michigan and Lake Huron, and spent lots of time taking walks to look at the wildlife and insect life around us. With kids that are a lot closer to the ground, I find there is a lot I miss way up here! We love to visit Utah!

Our family, and my cub scouts, loved visiting the Utah House in our hometown, Kaysville. It's a beautiful house, built to demonstrate some awesome ways available in building homes and landscapes to save energy and water. Nearby they also have a beautiful botanical garden.
Oh, and, Lisa... of course I'm a follower of you... Have been ever since you dragged me tractovating after I'd been traveling like 37 hours.

One of my favorite things to do is Bouncin off the walls. Wednesdays are Mommy and me for kids under 5 and moms are free with their kids. It wears my little energy ball out.

We live in Logan, so if you find yourself in Northern Utah then the place to go is the American Heritage Center. It portrays what life was like from the 1850-1920s (?) and it has a working farm. Also Logan has a small zoo that is really cheap ($.50-$1.00). And there are really great camping sites all around the valley.

I am also a follower now too!

Great job on GTU, Lisa! (I'm already a follower!) Our favorite things to do: storytime at the SLC library, Hansen Planetarium, Wheeler Farm, Gardner Village during holiday times (witches, elves!), Sweet's Candy Factory tour, riding Trax in the "free zone," UMFA (free first Wed of the month), Utah Natural History Museum (free first Mon of the month), and feeding the ducks at Liberty park.

My favorie place to go with my family is the Great Sand Dunes National Monument, near Alamosa, Colorado. It it has a small stream that runs between the picnic area and the dunes. All the kids from the smallest to the largest enjoy playing in the sand and water. And the best part is it is close to Grandma's house.
