The best learning game we have played recently was homemade! We are working on recognizing numbers with my preschooler and so we made a go fish game with the numbers 1-10. Not only does it help with learning numbers, but it gets us to turn off the tv and spend time as a family!

I love the Red Balloon store they have some great games. There is also a website that has tons of games to help kids with reading skills, http://www.fcrr.org/curriculum/SCAindex.shtm. Pick a grade level, then the skills you want your child to practice, and then print it. I have turned them into file folder games or games in manila envelopes. A great site for teachers and parents.

We love games at our house! We get to spend time as a family and talk. Our new favorite game that we got for Christmas is Disney Cranium. The kids love it! Another favorite homemade game is "Family Memory". I made memory out of pictures of family memebers. (Including family that doesn't live close by so the kids could remember all family.) I put the pictures in baseball card holds, so I could update pictures as needed without the lamination cost. Love watching you on GTU!

Two of our favorite things this year for Christmas were remote control cars (I think they are good for hand eye coordination, imagination etc) my girls have played with them for hours. Of course they were pink. And we got the girls pink baseball mitts and softballs, trying to teach them outdoor fun and a sports as well.

My favorite learning toy is the VTech Preschool - Adventure Learning Globe. It is so much to move the airplane around the globe while learning new things. This toy is designed for preschoolers but all of my older neices and nephews love playing with it too.

My oldest is only 2.5, so we are still into puzzles and Leapfrog DVDs, but I have heard wonderful things about the Tag Reader. We'll be investing in one of those in a couple years.
